We are working with the Rotary Club of the Mendhams (NJ) to raise funds to build a chicken coop housing 100 chickens. Having chickens would mean we can add eggs (a good source of protein) to the diet of both the elderly and the youth in The Village Angels of Tanzania program.

Recent nutritional data collected by Johanna and Sergio on their trip to Tanzania indicate generally poor protein stores, with some of the people exhibiting the symptoms of kwashiorkor, a pronounced form of protein malnutrition.  Providing them with even one egg/week will begin to positively address this serious dietary concern.
