Heartfelt thanks for your generosity on Mother's Day
Sergio, myself and Board Member Eric Rolin have just returned from visiting The Village Angels of Tanzania. We found much work had been completed during our three-year, COVID-enforced absence. The headquarters campus has been updated with local landscaping and outdoor statues of the Blessed Mother and St. Francis. The visitors’ building is now replete with running water and nearly constant electricity from our solar panels. The chickens, bees and pigs are thriving in their respective home surroundings.
The elders in the program know us well by now and always seem happy to see us. This time they were really overjoyed when Sister Dativa announced the Mother’s Day gifts everyone would be receiving (the fathers and youths too): three live chickens and double amounts of carrots and dried fish next month. Additionally, 23 huts will be repaired, 19 new huts will be constructed, and new beds, mattresses and pillows await the next 12 elders who enter the program. All this resulted from the generous response of our donors to the Mother’s Day fundraiser. Thank you so much! These elderly people don’t celebrate Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, or birthdays, but they understand that Sister Dativa and the other Board of Trustees members, the 16 youths working in the program, and many generous donors care about them and want to help.
We thank all our donors for their most charitable support. The achievements of these past seven years have only happened because of your generosity. Please be assured that you have made a huge difference in the desperate lives of the people we serve. Along with Sister Dativa, we pray for all our village angels – in Tanzania and elsewhere.
Gratefully yours,
Johanna Burani
